Just thought I’d share my current, custom made desktop with you. Created in Photoshop, date and weather are populated by Geektool.

Update: I just switched this blog from Wordpress to Tumblr for the sake of simplicity and respect for Tumblr’s minimalism.
I know of no other popular site that adheres to minimalism better than Tumblr. So functional, so simple, so clean. Kudos Tumblr.
JetBlue recently launched an ad campaign with Christmas ideas for non-JetBlue flyers. The ad campaign itself is simply genius, but more on point are the simplicity of each ad as well as JetBlue’s own holding that less (seats) is better since it provides passengers with more leg room.
I am not employed or compensated by JetBlue in the least, but they are my own favorite airline to fly for sure.

While we’re on the topic of advertising, here is an example of what NOT to do in online advertising.
Instead of standing out by being different (like Apple did), Hyundai has chosen to add to the clutter, perhaps even making it worse. I really don’t get what they were going for here, but the end result makes me want to use another news site.
Today Apple dawns yet another example of advertising genius. CNN.com displays an Apple ad in both their top and right primary ad slots on their home page. I really have no words other than WOW!
What a beautiful and gutsy display of design prowess.
Kudos Apple.
